Training children to be talented ballroom
dancers is oneof our main objectives.
We feel that it is extremely important to
start instruction at the earliest possible age
in order to get the best results when the
children get older. Just like any other sport,
it is necessary to build muscle memory,
discipline, and learn how to work in a
partnership and as a team. At the same time,
the children are in a safe environment, where
they can build confidence, coordination, and an
understanding for a variety of different musical
rhythms and timings. The dances they're
taught are part of the International DanceSport
Federation program, and consist of the
Standard Dances (Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtro, Quickstep) and the Latin Dances (Samba, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble,Jive)
Kids in Action:
“Committed to DanceSport” is a place
where competitive dancing is of high
importance. We are all about getting an
amateur couple to a point where they are
ready and confident to go out on the dance
floor and compare their dancing skills with
everyone else. With ballroom dancing
becoming more popular in the United States,
more and more competitions take place.
As a result, it is very easy to find a
competition with couples at your level with
the same dance expertise. Levels go from
Newcomer, where you can compete after
just a couple of months preparation, to
Championship, where couples have many
years of dancing experience. What do you
need to be a successful amateur competitor?
Just your passion to dance and compete;
we will help you with everything else.
DanceSport for Children
DanceSport, or as many people know it,
Ballroom Dancing, is a form of Art.
Just like painters or poets try to express
themselves in their own way, dancing is a
very expressive form of communication.
On a social level, dancing is a fun and
exciting way of getting to know more
people and meet new friends. Also,
dancing has been proven to be a great
form of exercise, and participating in it
can help you get in good shape and spend
some quality time together with your
spouse and/or your friends. The social
dance scene is bigger than ever, and many
dance studios in the Twin Cities area
organize dance parties every weekend.
These parties are great opportunities to
exercise and show off your newly developed
dance skills. We offer social dance
instruction in the most popular Latin dances: Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Jive, and Standard dances: Waltz,Tango, Slow Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep
Pro - Am
Pro-Am is a Competitive Dance Division
where one member of the couple is a
professional dancer and the other person
is an amateur dancer. The idea behind
this interesting combination is to provide
the opportunity for the amateur dancer
who doesn’t have a partner to be able to
compete and experience the same
excitement from the competition that
amateur couples get. There are many
benefits for an amateur dancer to be in
this type of partnership. Having a
professional partner means that you will
improve more quickly than if your partner
was at the same level as you. With a pro-
fessional partner, learning good connection
is a much easier process. As a Pro-Am
competitor, you compete at your dancing
level, and competitions are designed to
offer the full range of experience levels
to compete in, so no matter how long
you have been dancing, you will be able
to show off your current skills and techniques
on the dance floor! !
